What airline did you fly with to Vietnam? Where was your connections? Would you recommend the airline? Anyone we should avoid?
For my Canadian readers: does Air Can*da suck or is it a decent flight?
I have been checking on flights a bit and it appears each of our flights could cost anywhere between $1700-$2300/each. Let's hope we find a seat sale or something. I think we will have our adoption agency book for us as this seems to be the easiest and then they are able to make the changes for us if we get lucky and can return home a bit earlier than the 3 wks planned stay. Don't get me wrong, I cannot wait to travel and see south Vietnam... but I will want to get home to see our kids as soon as possible... that I know for sure.
Not booking tickets yet - just dreaming of doing it soon! Gotta do my research, ya know. :)

I look forward to reading peoples' responses as we should be booking soon. I have heard great things about EVA and Cathay Pacific. We are hoping to fly locally to DC to Asia, to Vietnam.
We flew EVA- deluxe class (kind of an in-between coach and business class). Worth every penny!
We used Eva Air and loved them. I have a great travel agent if you need one. He gets the last minute flights at great prices.
I used Cathay Pacific and LOVED them. We flew out of the US - California to Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City. Lots of yummy food, new planes with private TVs for each seat, tons of movies and TV shows on demand to choose from. I got a bulk head seat for the return flight with a bassinette - you have to request that upon reservation and I would again when you check in. Very kind staff too.
When I was booking our tickets to Hanoi Wed evening, the AC agent told me there is a flight, Toronto, San Fran, HCMC. I will probably be trying that when I go to visit my sister who is moving to HCMC in August. I think United may run the flight San Fran to HCMC. I will be interested to hear what you find as I am planning a trip to HCMC next April. good luck, soon it will be time to travel to get your Meg
We used Cathay but got rerouted because of a typhoon and ended up with EVA on our trip there. They were both AMAZING! I would recommend either of them. :-)
We just traveled Eva air and LOVED it! We did their middle grade seats...not the Premium, but not coach...I guess it is just like business class. We booked them about 9 days out and they were 1,300 a peice (which we thought was great). Once on the plane and seeing the coach seats, I think they would have been just as comfortable...but we will be glad to have the extra room on the way home for sure!! We are staying at the Elios in HCMC. It came highly recommended by a friend of mine. We LOVE it and the staff is so great!! When we fly to Hanoi we are staying at the Hanoi Elegance 4 (HE4)...I have also heard this hotel is AMAZING for the cost!! I am really, really looking forward to that stay. If you send me your e-mail address I have a 10 page word document I have made with all the places that come highly recommended from families who have adopted. Yesterday I went to this fabulous store and got measured for 2 beautiful dresses to be made for me!! You just pick out the dress and then your favorite fabric, they measure you, and it is ready in 2 days!!!!! Boy and I am excited about that. I have a feeling when I go and try them on and love them...I am going to order more :)$30 for a handmade beautiful dress that fits perfectly!! Wow!!!
We just got a nice letter of apology from Cathay. Apparently it is possible to reserve bassinet seats and to request vegetarian meals - but your travel agent has to do this at the time of reservation. Not sure why our agency travel agent didn't...
I went with the cheap seats with Korean and they were great. Flew toronto, Chicago, Seoul, Hanoi. I'd use them again for sure.
We flew on EVA in the economy deluxe and it was AWESOME. We left from LA but they also go from San Fran.
